One of the most celebrated and beautiful cities in Europe, Verona was famously the setting for Shakespeare's masterpiece Romeo and Juliet, and as you walk though the narrow medieval streets of this beautiful city in northern Italy, it is easy to fall under the influence of Verona's charm.
Offering a slow pace of life mediated with a youthful exuberance, Verona is a city that combines all that is best in Italian heritage to create an ambience of easy charm. Verona is a place where you can easily relax and soak up the culture, enjoy Veronese cuisine in one of the many small pavement cafes, or just pick up a bargain or two in one of the many small boutiques.
Verona's great location in northern Italy allows you to explore some great scenery such as the famous Lake Garda, and also the southern reaches of the Alps, while within easy driving distance of the city, you can find yourself exploring beautiful Venice, or enjoying the faster pace of life in Milan.
All in all, Verona is a great place to visit, a city that offers enough within its ancient walls to keep you going for a week or more, yet also a place which is located so close to many great attractions, that it practically demands that you escape, at least for a few days so that you miss out on nothing during your stay in Verona.
