Turin is at the foot of the Alps in northwest Italy, roughly equidistant from Milan and Genoa. A city famous as the centre of the Italian motor industry, and as the premier winter sports centre in the country, Turin, or Torino as it is known locally is a city that is rich in culture and attractions.

Turin has a reputation for being a city of change, constantly reinventing itself through the ages as a place that represents the face of the whole nation.

From its history as the centre of the Saxony kingdom, to its modern era as the main hub of high technology and research in Italy, Turin has been a place that looked outwards.

Visitors to Turin come for many reasons, as a pilgrimage to view the famous Turin Shroud at the Chapel of the Holy Shroud, which is next to the Cathedral in Piazza Castella to see the fantastic museums and famous libraries, to watch the famous Juventus football team play at the Stadio del Alpi, or alternatively just to pass through the city on the way to one of the many mountain resorts nearby. Those that stay long enough to explore find a place rich in attractions, with a lively nightlife, and so pleasantly situated that they want to return again and again.
