The medieval city of Pisa in Tuscany is synonymous with the famous leaning tower that bears its name, yet there is far more to Pisa than just one building.
Part of the charm of basing yourself in Pisa for your holiday exploring Tuscany, is the city's location so close to other places such as Sienna, and of course Florence. Pisa's many attractions such as the Leaning Tower pf Pisa tower, and the beautiful cathedral and baptistery that neighbour it in the famous field of miracles are enough to keep you going for a few days, and there are a number of excellent museums to both art, and the history of the region to explore, but the beauty of Pisa, is that it will not distract you from the true business of Tuscany.
As the base of a fly drive holiday, Pisa has few equals. Tuscany's beautiful countryside is on your doorstep, and within an hour or so of the city, you are able to find world class vineyards, and small medieval villages so perfect that every direction you look in presents you with unforgettable images and the opportunity to immerse yourself in the relaxing pace of life is so tempting as to be practically compulsory.
For those who appreciate fine food, Tuscany is a slice of heaven. A region where you can find gourmet cuisine in a village café, a place where the profusion of locally produced fresh foodstuffs are perfectly blended into gorgeous and memorable local dishes so simple that you will be amazed.
